STUDENT POSTER COMPETITION OR SPC

The Student Poster Program and Competition has been an integral and important part of the OCEANS MTS/IEEE Conferences since 1989. The program is designed to foster and promote student involvement in technical societies and conferences and to provide a forum for students to interact with marine professionals. The Student Poster Competition is open to engineering and science graduate and undergraduate students of any tertiary level university or college worldwide. The program is supported by a grant from the US Navy Office of Naval Research. Students are invited but not restricted to submit posters based on the topics in the following list http://www.oceans14mtsieeestjohns.org/main.cfm/CID/18/Technical-Program/

The posters will be judged and prizes will be awarded during the conference. The posters will be on display in the Exhibition area throughout the OCEANS Conference. Students will be at their posters for contest judging and to interact with interested delegates.

The papers of those students who are selected for the Student Poster Competition and who present posters at the conference will be published in the IEEE Xplore database as part of the Conference Proceedings. All students selected for the Student Paper Competition receive a complimentary full conference registration and an allowance for travel and conference expenses. Those student poster submissions that are not selected for the Student Poster Competition will be evaluated for inclusion in the regular technical program and, if accepted, will be presented in one of the technical sessions. Financial support is not available in the latter case; and a full registration fee must be paid by one of the authors. A student author may take advantage of the reduced student registration rate to fully participate in the conference and present the paper as long as a co-author is attending at the full registration rate.
